Washington State University

Nestled amid the rolling hills of the Palouse, Washington State University (WSU) is home to 25,000 undergraduate students from all walks of life. The campus is centrally located on a hill overlooking Pullman, Washington in the southeast corner of the state. WSU offers a variety of options for students seeking a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees with over 10 academic colleges, 200 fields of study, and 65 departments, schools, and programs. As a land-grant research university, WSU delivers knowledge and the benefits of research throughout the state. WSU also has campuses in Everett, Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver.

Washington State College was founded less than five months after Washington was officially gained statehood in 1890. The college grew over the years and was renamed as Washington State University in 1959. The first satellite campuses in Spokane, Tri-Cities and Vancouver were introduced in 1989. Prominent alumni include Paul Allen, Edward R. Murrow, Edmund Schweitzer, Gary Larson, and Dolph Lundgren.

Students and alumni share a deep-rooted pride for all things WSU that will be carried for a lifetime. The mascot of WSU is Butch T. Cougar and the official colors are Crimson and Grey. The fall is an especially memorable time on campus with alumni and friends of the university making the pilgrimage back to campus to watch WSU football games at Martin Stadium.
